As George watched the musical performances, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara leaned in from the row behind and cheekily poked his ear with a Union Jack flag.

Princess Charlotte, seven, and Kate Middleton, 40, clearly saw the funny side of the prank and giggled as they watched his reaction.

Zara and Mike Tindall are very close to the Cambridge family and Zara is even Prince George’s godmother.

Thousands of Britons have gathered outside Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Platinum Party at The Palace tonight – but Her Majesty has stayed at home.

Artists from the UK and around the world have come together to celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary.

While members of the Royal Family including the Cambridges, Charles and Camilla and Princess Anne are in the audience, Her Majesty is not attending the performance.

Queen Elizabeth has had mobility issues in recent months and the palace had warned in advance that the monarch would be assessing which anniversary events she felt able to attend.

She withdrew from Friday’s Jubilee Thanksgiving service after experiencing “discomfort” during Thursday’s celebrations.

And granddaughter Zara Tindall previously said Her Majesty is enjoying the celebrations at home in her “comfortable clothes” after missing tonight’s Epsom Derby.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are staying home for the palace party after celebrating daughter Lilibet’s first birthday in private.

The couple are keeping a low profile this weekend after the Queen reportedly said there would be “no drama” during the anniversary.

Harry and Meghan have only made one public appearance over the weekend.

They came hand in hand to yesterday’s thanksgiving service.

Nor were Meg and Harry standing next to Her Majesty on the palace balcony as the four-day bonanza began on Thursday.

However, both watched Trooping the Color from a window in the Major General’s office.

Roman Kemp, the DJ and son of Spandau Ballet favorite Martin Kemp, will moderate the celebrations together with fellow DJ and presenter Clara Amfo.
