Your old game consoles could be worth thousands on eBay

OLD game consoles may seem like bulky lumps of plastic, but some devices have a shocking resale value.
eBay sellers are raking in real bucks for their old consoles – you can too by listing some of these tech fossils.

Atari Pong home console

“The game had to be able to almost play itself so that people would know what was happening.” Atari co-founder and founding father of the video game Nolan Bushnell once said. “So that’s how ‘Pong’ came about.”
Pong was one of the first games to transition from big, boxy arcade form to a home console in 1975 – it’s so simple, even a monkey can play Pong.
Don’t bet the farm on your Pong profits – a used but working 1976 Pong console is available on the eBay market for $99.99.
Jazzy Nintendo 64 consoles

The launch of the Nintendo 64 was a game changer – the console introduced 3D graphics and four-player capabilities for the first time.
Over the years, Nintendo released regional and limited editions of the console in swanky colors and adorned with 1990s cultural icons like Pikachu.
The rarest of the rare fetches more than six figures on eBay – but the standard black N64 system is worth around $50.
Golden Gameboy

In 2004, the 24-karat gold Game Boy was released in a contest with just six winners from 25,000 entries — in the years since, the gold-colored handheld has been kept secret, and some have wondered if the device even existed.
A seventh gold console was produced for a Zelda Quiz giveaway hosted by GamesTM, but the winner never released their score.
If you have one, you can essentially set your own price, since one has never been documented as having been seen or sold in public.
Original Xbox

The Xbox is a device where the condition of the product is an important factor in pricing.
A factory-sealed original Xbox costs over $7,000 on eBay – to lure potential buyers, the seller noted that the console was stored in a “smoke-free, pet-free home.”
Meanwhile, a full Xbox system is a hair’s breadth under $150 — for buyers, there’s a sweet deal for a worn-out but working Xbox with two controllers and 36 games for $230.
Beatles rock band for Xbox 360

Beatles purists, look away!
A 2009 Beatles-inspired version by Rock Band featured a controller modeled after Paul McCartney’s Hofner bass and drum kit with iconic Beatles branding.
Sellers with unopened kits are charging up to $700 for their wares — but used individual pieces of the set can still cost over $100.

Xbox President Phil Spencer has said the Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s fastest-selling console ever – while the Playstation 5s are flying off the shelves faster than Sony can build them.
eBay sellers can tap into this hungry consumer market by keeping their hardware in good condition and parting with it at the right time.
