You have the eyes of an eagle if you can see the straight lines in an optical illusion – squint until your head hurts

THIS optical illusion is so difficult that anyone who can figure it out must have eagle eyes.

Cognitive Psychologist Dr. Gavin Buckingham recently posted an optical illusion on Twitter driving people everywhere insane.

Buckingham wrote a caption along with an attached image of the illusion, explaining what to see and where it came from.

“The horizontal lines are actually parallel and not tilted at all. Look at the distance between them at the beginning and end of each row if you don’t believe it. Wonderful version of Victoria Skye’s cafe wall illusion,” he says.

For reference, Victoria Skye’s image contains a detailed pattern with horizontal lines that appear angled at first glance.

However, if you have the eyesight to squint and look at the beginning and end of each row, as Buckingham says, it will show that the lines are horizontal.

For those who struggled with this, Buckingham explained that high contrast is required to see the illusion properly.

“This effect is driven by the tiny areas of high contrast in the corner of each ‘square’. If you can’t see the contrast clearly, the effect isn’t there,” he explained.

Viewers in the comments were amazed at the simplicity and impact of the optical illusion.

they also contain their own variations in subsequent answers to test others.
