Xiaomi 12 Pro survives JerryRigEverything bend test and appears structurally stronger than OnePlus 10 Pro

The Xiaomi 12 Pro passed JerryRigEverything’s durability test, suggesting that the smartphone is structurally more solid compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus handset failed the bend test and broke in half. During the rigorous testing, the phones endured scratches, fire and a flex test. Xiaomi 12 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro have similar specs. They are both flagship models from Xiaomi and OnePlus respectively. While the OnePlus 10 Pro made its debut in India in March, the Xiaomi 12 Pro was launched last month.

In a video Zack Nelson posted to his JerryRigEverything YouTube channel over eight minutes, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is subjected to the regular scratch test. The phone features a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus display and a Xiaomi screen protector. The phone’s screen began to get light scratches at a hardness of six on the Mohs scale and deeper gouges at a hardness of seven – something a phone might not experience in everyday use. This is similar to how the OnePlus 10 Pro performed in the JerryRigEverything test.

Despite those deep scratches on the screen, especially in the area above the under-display fingerprint sensor, the Xiaomi 12 Pro continued to recognize touch input. In the fire test, after about 30 seconds of exposure to a lighter flame, the screen roasted, leaving a white spot. The Xiaomi phone gets an aluminum frame and a matte back. The video shows that the paint on the frame is peeling off and frosted paint is slightly scratched.

In the last round, Nelson tries to bend the smartphone from the middle. The Xiaomi 12 Pro remained intact, however, there were some clicking sounds that indicated internal damage. In comparison, the OnePlus 10 Pro broke in half during the flex test.

Xiaomi 12 Pro price in India has been set at Rs. 62,999 for the 8GB RAM model. The 12GB RAM variant carries a price tag of Rs. 66,999. Xiaomi launched the phone in Couture Blue, Noir Black, and Opera Mauve color options. Xiaomi 12 Pro survives JerryRigEverything bend test and appears structurally stronger than OnePlus 10 Pro
