Worker says Chipotle weighs meat and catches him eating chicken

A popular TikToker, who says he used to work at Chipotle, shared how the Mexican grill reportedly discovered he was eating the chicken at work.

TikToker Jordan (@jordan_the_stallion8), who has 6.8 million followers, stitched up another TikToker filming himself eating at work. In his jab, Jordan said supervisors at Chipotle “always find out” when employees’ food is being consumed. This is because Chipotle weighs his flesh, according to Jordan. He says he found out the hard way.

Jordan explained he works the grill and would eat the “cupfuls” of chicken. “How are they going to find out if I’m eating the food? I’ll just make more of it,” Jordan recalled. “One day I found out that Chipotle was weighing her flesh. … They compare the weight of the meat to the quantity sold. Those two have to agree, because if they don’t, they know meat was wasted.”

Jordan said he was called into the office and questioned about the waste, which supervisors noticed. Jordan said he initially refused to eat the chicken. “They rolled up the cameras and saw me eating the chicken,” he recalled.

He said he then tried to claim he only ate the chicken that once, but management was a step ahead. “They pulled up (in front of the cameras) five more times when it happened,” he said.

His video served as a warning to @danny_zahran along with other Chipotle workers who might eat the food at work. “Don’t do that,” he said. “Chipotle always finds out.”

The Daily Dot reached out to Jordan via email and TikTok comment and Chipotle via press email regarding the claim it weighs the flesh. The video had 1.8 million views as of Wednesday; Viewers who say they have experience working at Chipotle co-sign the claim in the comments section.

“Lmao, the chipotle I used to work at, even weighed the TRASH to prevent shrinkage,” one viewer wrote.

“The former Chipotle griller here, he’s right, they certainly are. As for the cameras, find the blind spots,” said a second.

However, there were others who claimed they were allowed to eat meat for “quality control”. Some claimed this varied by location, and Jordan was unlucky to have worked on one that meticulously handled its inventory.
