Woman wanted for killing cyclist who was dating boyfriend fled NYC

The woman suspected of fatally shooting a professional cyclist who once dated her boyfriend is said to have fled to New York City.
Authorities said Wednesday they believe Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, flew to New York City from Austin, Texas days after the fatal shooting of Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson. An arrest warrant for Armstrong was issued on May 17.
Three days after Wilson was found shot dead at a friend’s house, Armstrong left Austin, the US Marshals Service said in a statement.
She took a flight to Houston and then a second connecting flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City, officials said.
On the night of the murder, Wilson was staying at a friend’s house in Austin, where she was traveling to an upcoming race.
Police said both women were romantically linked to professional cyclist Colin Strickland.
Armstrong had been in a relationship with Strickland, but during a hiatus in their relationship, he dated Wilson, according to a warrant affidavit obtained by Austin-based NBC affiliate KXAN.
Armstrong had reportedly warned Wilson to stay away from Strickland, but the two had gone out to dinner the night Wilson was found dead.
Surveillance footage shows a car suspected to be Armstrong arrived at Wilson’s girlfriend’s home minutes after Strickland dropped her off. When asked by authorities, Armstrong did not provide a statement.
Strickland said in a statement to the Austin-American Statesman that he had a brief relationship with Wilson in October, when he and Armstrong were not a couple. He said that since then they have only had a platonic and professional relationship and consider Wilson a great friend.
He is not considered a suspect as security footage and other evidence shows he was elsewhere at the time of Wilson’s death.
The US Marshals Service has declared Armstrong a fugitive, with a murder warrant out for her.
