Woman steals puppies from PSPCA HQ in Philadelphia, officials say – NBC10 Philadelphia

The Pennsylvania SPCA is searching for a woman they say was caught on video Sunday stealing a puppy from the group’s Philadelphia headquarters.

Investigators say the unidentified woman was at the PSPCA headquarters at 350 East Erie Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when she stole a small white terrier mix breed from a kennel and placed the puppy in her purse. Then she left the building.

The stolen puppy was adopted by a family and stayed at the shelter for her neutering scheduled for Monday.

The PSPCA released surveillance video and photos of the woman accused of stealing the puppy and a second woman who was with her. If you recognize either woman, please call 911.

“If you are one of those responsible, you should bring the pup back immediately as her new family is heartbroken,” wrote a PSPCA spokesman. “Forbearance can be considered if the pup is returned to the shelter promptly and safely.”
