Woman shares hack to reveal Gym Creepers

In a viral TikTok, a woman shares an iPhone hack to catch fitness creams in the act. Emily (@emilywithanimals) posted the clip on May 26 with the caption, “This video will probably piss some guys off lol.”

In the clip, she shows a shot of a guy at the gym watching her creepily. “So if you ever feel like a creeper is staring at you, but you don’t really want to look at it and risk eye contact, I have a trick for you,” she says.

The clip switches to a “demo” with her husband. At first you only see her husband’s feet on a weight bench. “Point your camera down and just pretend you’re texting – absolutely not suspicious. Switch to wide angle without moving your phone and now you can see their face and see if they’re staring at you or not,” she says. The camera lens switches to wide angle and you can see her husband’s whole body.

To do this, you have to “zoom out! Normal is below 1x. Switch it to .5x or .6x,” Emily wrote in the comments. However, this feature is only available on the iPhone 11 and later models.

“Now please enjoy some bonus shots of the vine I caught using this method,” she says. The clip traces back to the creeper from the very first shot.

As of Monday, TikTok has over 438,000 views.

Commenters said it was “GENIUS”.

Some viewers have been upset at how patriarchy makes women feel insecure and uncomfortable, even in the gym.

“The amount of work it takes to be a woman, ugh!! We must have all the tricks and skills to protect ourselves from death!” said one user in frustration.

“My gym solves this problem by having an entire additional, locked-down, women-only gym. It’s sad that it’s necessary,” wrote another.

Other people said they’d rather confront the Creeper or do something more obvious.

“Nah – I look straight into their souls. I’m making them even more uncomfortable,” claimed one.

“Nah, I’ll pull out my camera, turn on the flash and let him know,” another person commented.

Some argued that there was nothing wrong with staring. “Wait, why do you give someone a bad look now?”

To which someone replied, “Don’t you see anything wrong with staring at someone until they feel uncomfortable? For real?”

Unfortunately, some men seem to overlook the fact that many women in the gym feel uncomfortable with men staring at them or approaching them just trying to work out.
