A TikToker says she found out her mother-in-law had been spying on her with a baby camera for over six months.
Kiyah Ramirez (@kiyahramirez) posted on TikTok on June 2 that she found out her mother-in-law was spying on her and her husband after Ramirez’s mother-in-law accused Ramirez of talking about her behind her back. Ramirez says her husband found out his mother was watching and listening to them with a baby camera that the mother-in-law had set up in their home.
Ramirez also says that her mother-in-law shared clips of Ramirez and her husband captured by the baby camera with other people and that she and her husband are no longer in contact with his parents.
“And now they will never be able to see my twins because of all the shit they’ve done,” Ramirez says on her TikTok, which had over 3.6 million views as of Monday.

Commentators shared how they would have reacted had they been in Ramirez’s shoes.
“I would file a complaint!” @dagirlmonday commented.
“I would take her to court,” wrote @poetrykeandra.
In a follow-up video, Ramirez says her husband found out that her mother-in-law had registered as a “user” of the baby cam, meaning she could watch from her phone. Ramirez’s other TikToks also detail her relationship with her mother-in-law prior to the baby camera incident.
Ramirez also clarifies that she shared her story because she read comments on her videos from people in similar situations. She also says her mother-in-law has threatened to sue her over the TikToks she makes.
“She’s not my kids’ grandma,” says Ramirez, who says the title “grandma” is something you have to earn, in a TikTok.
