Woman says Frontier gives workers $10 for each oversized bag

In a new development of the ongoing controversy surrounding Frontier Airlines’ baggage policy, TikTok user Dyana Villa (@dyanavilla.tv) posted a video claiming that the airline’s gate agents are offering a bonus for any oversized baggage fee receive.
This claim follows a series of incidents in which Frontier Airlines was accused of falsely claiming that passengers’ bags exceeded the airline’s size requirements, resulting in passengers being forced to pay additional fees.
After witnessing a similar incident, the TikToker has used the video platform to document her experience with frontier agents trying to frame her. She posted several TikToks on the incident, which led her to this latest discovery.
Villa’s most recent TikTok begins with her addressing a comment on an earlier video, which read, “My cousin works for Frontier, she says they get a bonus for every bag they charge.”
Villa responds by claiming that she has received many similar comments. She then claims that she received a message from a Frontier flight attendant confirming this claim and stating that the baggage agents are being paid $10 for each person they can charge.
In the video, Villa points out that this commission is a disincentive for the baggage agents: “Yeah, they’re like looking for the smallest bag that might pass as not fitting, but obviously it does. They’re just very petty and they’re trying to get that commission, so they make their bank with that.”
She also claims that Frontier doesn’t even hire the baggage agents directly.
“According to this flight attendant, they are not even direct employees of Frontier. They’re a third party, so they don’t really care what happens to the Frontier [customers],” she testifies.
Posted on March 8th, TikTok received renewed attention, amassing over 35,400 views in just one day.
In response to the video, viewers left various comments expressing their outrage.
One viewer commented: “For $10?!!! It’s embarrassing how they bother some of these people for a $10 commission.”
Another suggested legal action could be taken against the company: “Omg I would file a class action lawsuit!”
Another commenter urged people to boycott Frontier altogether, stating, “So the moral of the story is no one flies Frontier. Got it!”
