Woman in critical condition after truck collision in Sydney’s inner west

A 66-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a truck in Sydney’s inner west.

Emergency services were called to the corner of City West Link Road and Norton Street in Lilyfield just before 11am on Monday after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

When police arrived, they found the woman was seriously injured. She was taken by paramedics to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The uninjured truck driver was taken to the same hospital for mandatory examination.

The accident caused traffic chaos throughout the inner west.

All city-bound lanes of the City West Link are closed at Norton Street and police have advised motorists to avoid the area.

“Long delays [are] expected,” said a statement from the police highway patrol.

Police are also asking anyone with dashcam footage or information to contact Leichhardt Police Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
