A woman has sparked a discussion on TikTok after posting a video showing herself being called at a Wingate Park in Brooklyn. The catcalling is so intense that the woman decides to leave the park.
The video shows Jax (@justjax2u) walking through the park that a friend said she was visiting. In the background, numerous people shout at her and make comments about her.
Her TikTok currently has over 1.4 million views.

“My friend advised me to train in this park. It’s definitely a fucking no,” she says at the beginning of her video. “It’s a no.”
She later released a follow-up video of her exiting the park, in which similar shouts can be heard.
@justjax2u Brooklyn girls don’t scare easily but I sure was intimidated 🤷🏻♀️… @legendarybrolygainz everyone thinks you tried to trick me today. #brooklyn #parkfitness #wingatepark #yo ♬ original sound – JUSTJAX2U
“Brooklyn girls don’t scare easily but I sure was intimidated,” she wrote in the second video’s caption. In the comments, Jax elaborated that she was a native New Yorker, “born in Kings County… and raised in Bedstuy.”
Commenters first polled the friend who suggested the park to Jax.
“This is definitely not a friend suggestion,” wrote one user.
“So your friend told you to train at the PRISON YARD!!????” another quizzed.
To those comments, Jax responded that this friend was a male, “so his reception is very different from mine.”
She also shared that getting phone calls is a common problem for women across New York.
“NYC is known worldwide for this nonsense,” she explained in a comment. “Women are learning to deal with it, but it’s very common, especially in Europe [Brooklyn].”
Many other commentators blamed the men for such behavior.
“I don’t think they understand that this is extremely threatening for some women,” one commenter wrote. “That’s not fun for us.”
“The fact that men don’t see that as a problem,” claimed another.
Most of all, users were surprised that the catcalling was so intense.
“No immediately,” said one TikToker. “Sounds like you’re coming in to Rikers.”
“Men live in a different world and this proves it,” wrote another.
The Daily Dot emailed Jax for comment.
