Woman furious after receiving ‘absolutely awful’ Carlsberg cans | UK News

A woman was “stressed” after an order of her favorite liquor failed.
Anne-Maria Elsbury and her husband Wayne Morgan had bought nine cases of Carlsberg, each costing £15, from an ASDA in Bristol.
The mother-of-three sat down to enjoy one of the Danish pilsners, but soon noticed that each can seemed ‘thin’.
Anne-Maria says the cans were filled to the brim with “beer water” and didn’t appear to have been properly carbonated.
She was offered a £15 voucher from Carlsberg, who blamed a shady batch for the issue.
The 46-year-old from Wales told The Sun: “Wayne was on his way to Bristol for a funeral and I told him to pick me up some cans on the way back because alcohol is always cheaper in England.
“I love Carlsberg – it’s the only drink I enjoy and should last a long time.
“But when he came back I knew something was wrong because the cans felt really thin. I was in about four cans and thought something was wrong – it didn’t taste right.
‘A few days later I said, ‘That’s it, it just tastes like water.’
The pair noted that each can appeared to have the same problem and was filled with flat liquid.
There were a total of 144 cans of Carlsberg in the nine boxes.
Anne-Maria continued: “We poured it and couldn’t believe our eyes. It wasn’t like beer at all. It wasn’t fizzy at all – it was like beer water.
“It tasted absolutely awful and you definitely don’t get any buzz from it.”
Carlsberg had told Anne-Maria and Wayne to put a few cans in the mail so the matter could be investigated.
They then confirmed the cans had suffered from “reduced carbonation” and offered a £15 voucher as an apology.
But Anne-Maria says 15 pounds isn’t enough.
She continued with the Sun: “It really stressed me out – I’m out of pocket and they offered me enough to buy another case.
“I have nine boxes of this stuff in my bedroom.”
“You could say it’s from a bad batch, but people could get really sick of it.
“And imagine if someone bought them for a wedding or a funeral – there could be a lot of faulty cans spoiling the whole thing.”
