Woman found dead in Sydney west flat

A man has been charged with domestic violence after police found the body of a woman in a flat in western Sydney after previously failing to determine the cause of a domestic dispute.

At around 11.45pm on Friday, police received an anonymous call about an alleged domestic dispute at a block of flats in Liverpool.

Officers arrived at the block of flats around 3am on Saturday but were unable to locate the apartment where the incident took place.

The investigation into who made the call continued throughout Saturday, police said.

At around 8pm on Saturday, police were recalled to the Liverpool apartment block where they found the body of a 34-year-old woman.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with domestic violence, including stalking/intimidation for fear of physical harm, violating prohibitions/restrictions in the AVO, and destroying or damaging property.

He appeared in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, where he was denied bail.

Local investigators will work with Strike Force Midian Homicide to investigate the woman’s death.

NSW Police will also analyze other circumstances surrounding the incident as part of an inquiry into a critical incident, which police say is being independently reviewed.

The man supports the police in this investigation.
