A woman says she found out two years after a Facetime date with a Bumble match that he was allegedly arrested for strangling someone.
Ashleigh Voisin (@ashleighvoisin) opened up about her previous Bumble match on TikTok in a video posted Wednesday. In it, she says after seeing the man on Bumble years after their date, she asked a friend if she should get back in touch with him. Voisin said the friend alerted her to the man’s alleged recent arrest on battery by strangulation charges.
“What the heck,” Voisin said on her TikTok, which had nearly 300,000 views as of Thursday. “Welcome to online dating.”

Voisin shared a Bumble profile and an alleged mug shot of the man, but the Daily Dot has been unable to confirm his identity or his arrest record.
Many commenters said they knew and/or dated the man and that his name is Mike.
“Me too. Same guy. Mike G,” commented @maggiechapman303.
“I’ve matched him in the past too!!!” @thatgirltiff225 wrote. “Bullet dodged!”
Some commenters shared similar experiences with dating app matches.
“I know that. Miles and miles of charges,” commented @meghansaunders.
“Was on a date and while he is in the bathroom a girl comes up and shows me his arrest file,” wrote @sarahjhudson.
“Why hasn’t anyone built a dating app where both parties have to agree to a background check before they can chat with each other,” @trinatrainwreck commented.
The Daily Dot reached out to Voisin via Instagram direct message and Bumble via contact form.
