Woman accidentally applies to LinkedIn jobs with “Joke” resume

A woman went viral on TikTok after realizing she accidentally submitted a satirical resume for multiple jobs on popular jobs site LinkedIn.
The video, uploaded by user Brenna (@happyboxes.art), shows her with a shocked expression as she stares at the camera and says she “made a mistake”. Brenna claims that while looking for jobs on LinkedIn, she’s stumbled upon many jobs from companies that are marked “confidential” because the company “just doesn’t want you to know her name anymore.”
One day, in a “crazy moment of madness,” she says she created a joke resume and reveals it to her followers in the clip. The resume does not have her name, all her professional activities are marked as “confidential” and her picture has a mustache and sunglasses.
Unknowingly, Brenna “forgot” to delete the joke resume, and over the past three days she claims she accidentally applied to many serious jobs using it.
The mistake hits her hard as she tries to laugh at it, saying she hopes recruiters “have a sense of humor.” However, she doubts this and says she “is unlikely to receive any recalls for any of these applications”.

The video was viewed over 850,000 times as of Saturday, with recruiters commenting on the resume, who found it funny and said they wish they had stumbled across one.
“Recruiters here! That would totally make my day!!!” said a recruiter.
“As a recruiter of 6 years I would call you,” wrote another. “This is gold and just what I need to make Lmao smile.”
“This is what we do!!! I would cry with laughter if I saw this resume I would probably call you and offer you a job too!” a third commented.
Other users shared when they or someone they knew sent resumes with errors.
“I worked at a winery and couldn’t remember my job title. I entered a temporary title when updating my resume, but I forgot it. I sent out resumes saying I was a wino,” one person shared.
“One time I got my dad to work with him and we put ‘I want a job blah blah blah blah’ as the headline, we forgot to go back and edit that part,” said a second.
“I accidentally uploaded a photo of my dog in an application instead of a headshot. I wasn’t hired,” said a third.
There was one viewer who even sent out a satirical resume, writing: “I did this once. I jokingly set Hogwarts as my secondary school with a Potions major… wanted to go back and fix it and never did!”
