Wiltshire: “Donut” was filmed turning donuts around a roundabout the wrong way round

A man has been banned from driving for 15 months after he was filmed turning these “donuts” the wrong way around a roundabout.
The actions of Daniel Bassett, 26, have been branded a “danger to the public”.
He was filmed on May 7 driving at high speed around a roundabout in Swindon, Wiltshire.
In the video, his car can be seen skidding around the roundabout, which thankfully appears to be deserted, while belching smoke from its tires as stunned pedestrians look on.
At one point, the person filming can be heard muttering that the driver is going to wreck his car’s tires.
Bassett was banned from driving for 15 months, has to undergo an advanced driving test and has to do 200 hours of unpaid community service thanks to the stunt.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving in Swindon Magistrates Court yesterday.
Deb Smith, Deputy Wiltshire Police Commissioner, said: “We welcome the judgment handed down to Bassett, his actions constituted extremely reckless behavior and a clear danger to those present and the general public.
“Op Staysail remains focused on relentlessly prosecuting those responsible for creating extremely dangerous situations on our roads while attending disruptive car meetings. We will continue to look for the most severe sanctions possible in such cases.”
