It is her first overseas visit since the death of Prince William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, which he noted in a statement upon arrival.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said: “We are still in the process of finalizing and working through the details.

“We cannot give any further details on this.”

In a statement upon her arrival, the Prince said: “On this first foreign visit since the death of my grandmother, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly Boston for the many tributes they have paid to the late Queen.

“She remembered her bicentenary visit in 1976 with great fondness,” said the Prince of Wales. “My grandmother was one of the optimists in life. And so am I.

“That’s why we launched the Earthshot Prize last year with the goal of creating a truly global platform that inspires hope and urgent optimism as we seek to save the future of our planet.”

The first official meeting between President Biden and the Prince and Princess will take place on Friday.

Biden met the late Queen Elizabeth and King Charles on numerous occasions over the years. In 2021 he met Prince William at the UN climate change conference COP26 in Glasgow.

Earlier this year, President Biden traveled to the UK for Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral and spoke to King Charles to offer him his condolences.

He said: “In the years to come we look forward to continuing a close friendship with The King and The Queen Consort.”
