Ahead of the 2021-22 season, All-Star guard Ben Simmons requested an exchange with the Sixers.
After an unprecedented loss to the Sixers in Game 7 of ECSF 2021, Ben Simmons is the unfortunate name for the fans. Social media has criticized the star defender for his poor performance in the knockout stages. His passing wide open pitch was the talk of the NBA community.
Things took a turn for the worse when his teammate Joel Embiid and coach Doc Rivers made statements to the media. Instead of backing the former All-Star, they opted to call the star guard because of his lack of shooting ability. A reporter asked the 76ers coach if Simmons could be a one-point defender for the championship team, to which Rivers replied, “I don’t even know how to respond right now.”
Ben Simmons responded by asking for a trade. As pointed out, Simmons continues to miss training camp. Upon his return, he was deemed out of practice by Doc Rivers due to his refusal to substitute during a practice session. Simmons hasn’t played for the Sixers since, even while paying a $1.4 million fine.
However, Simmons cited mental health issues as the reason behind his absence. After that, the Sixers stopped penalizing Simmons. The fine was continued shortly after Simmons decided not to cooperate with team officials.
Multiple teams have shown interest in Ben Simmons, but Daryl Morey is still struggling to find a suitable offer.
Since the Sixers put Ben Simmons on the commercial market, numerous teams have made offers for the star defender. According to the report, the Knicks, Lakers, Cavs, Trail Blazers, Kings and Pacers are among the potential commercial destinations.

A lot of speculation has been going on regarding the deals the Sixers will likely receive. According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the 76ers spoke to the Kings about a possible deal but were told the Kings would not include De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton.
The Philadelphia 76ers will only consider De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton in Ben Simmons’ commercial negotiations with the Sacramento Kings, according to @JandersonSacBee

Other reports suggest that the King wants to keep their core intact amid the appointment of Alvin Gentry as interim coach. Fox is still the future of kings. While it looks like Fox’s best basketball may yet be out, Simmons’ offensive production has gone in the wrong direction.
The Sixers are demanding a high price for Simmons, which has resulted in a lot of teams pulling out. The former All-Star star’s future remains uncertain. However, the longer this story goes on, the harder it is for Daryl Morey to find a satisfactory offer.
