SOPHIE HINHLIFFE, known to many as Mrs. Hinch, rose to fame thanks to her incredible cleaning tricks and slick interior design.
Meet the famous Mrs. Hinch.
Who is Mrs Hinch?
Mrs Hinch is the Instagram alias of Sophie Hinchliffe. She runs the @mrshinchhome account.
Her tips on making cleaning fun and pictures of her immaculately decorated home became a hit with fans who kept coming back for more as her Instagram account attracted millions of followers.
Sophie revealed she wasn’t looking for online fame and only created the Mrs Hinch Home account a few years ago to avoid “cluttering up my personal Instagram and boring everyone with Home pics.”
Along with her signature cleaning tricks, Sophie’s stunning interior design tastes are often heralded as “home goals” by her “Hinch Army” of like-minded cleaning obsessives.
While she was “early to mid-twenties,” Sophie suffered from “anxiety and panic attacks” and discovered that cleaning was her ultimate coping mechanism — she said, “I would then get up and grab a cloth, mop or vacuum and just getting started. “
After experiencing firsthand the calming powers of cleaning, Sophie worked through a to-do list of chores and found that “it was so rewarding to complete.”
What is Ms Hinch’s net worth?
Ms Hinch’s social media success has catapulted her to become the second highest paid cleaning influencer in the world.
Her account has over 4 million followers as her cleaning tips gain popularity around the world.
New research has found Ms Hinch rakes in an average of £5,900 every time she posts on social media.
According to End of Tenancy Cleaning London, the cleanfluencer is now believed to be worth an estimated £1million.
The mum is second in the world after Japanese cleaning enthusiast Marie Kondo, who earns a whopping £6,800 per post after gaining popularity following her Netflix show of the same name.
The cleaning guru has worked with companies like ilovewallpaper.co.uk, Very, Killeen and Lenor, who have paid them to feature their products in their posts.
Sophie also owes her fortune to the publication of her book, Hinch Yourself Happy, which sold 160,000 copies in just three days in the UK and topped Amazon’s bestseller list even before it was published.
This was followed by her second tome, Mrs Hinch: The Activity Journal, before publishing her best-selling Sunday Times No. 1 memoir, This is Me, in October 2020.
Is Mrs Hinch married?
Sophie is married to Jamie Hinchliffe, 41, aka Mr Hinch, after they tied the knot at Gosfield Hall in August 2018.
He popped the question on their fourth anniversary together.
The couple had a fairytale wedding with little quirks, including each of the tables named after a Beyoncé song like Drunk in Love and Love on Top.
And while Mrs. Hinch’s wedding dress was pure glamour, she added some modest touches in the form of her accessories, including jewelry bought at Next and a pair of ballet flats.
The couple had their first dance to Brian McKnight and Mariah Carey – Whenever You Call.
Does Mrs Hinch have children?
She is the mother of two-year-old Ronnie, who was born on June 20, 2019, and another boy, Lennie, who was born on May 22, 2021.
The Hinch clan also includes their dog, a cocker spaniel named Henry, who has also become famous through her Instagram account.
Her family is a regular feature on her Instagram page, and fans are always excited to learn more about the Hinch clan.
Returning to the mansion recently, she said: “Today is the first time me and Jamie have returned to our wedding venue since our wedding anniversary. Only this time we took Henry and Ronnie with us.
“I was SO excited but as soon as I got in there I cried. I cried to the wonderful ladies who were there to meet me.”
In December 2018, Ms Hinch announced to her followers that she and husband Jamie were expecting a baby.
Then, on June 19, 2019, she announced on social media that she had given birth to her son, named Ronnie James George Hinchcliffe.
The star’s husband Jamie, 39, shared the happy news with her Instagram followers, writing: “Yesterday the 20th into the world weighing 6lbs 1oz.
“I didn’t think I could love Soph more than I already do, but I was so wrong. For once, I am completely at a loss for words.”
Ms Hinch was appalled by cruel comments from social media trolls about her son’s appearance.
In her Instagram story, she said: “Nobody deserves that. It’s just an innocent little baby, my little boy.
“I don’t know how people like that sleep, guys, I don’t know.”
She thanked fans for their support after the abuse left her in tears.
On Jan. 1, 2021, Sophie announced that she and Jamie are expecting their second child via an Instagram post, which read, “Baby Hinch number 2 we can’t wait to finally meet you.”
The following month, on Sophie’s 31st birthday, the expectant parents found out the gender of their unborn child.
She said: “Ron & Hen… we ALL love you!!
“NOW get ready guys… there won’t be two anymore!”
Mrs Hinch welcomed their second child into the world on May 22nd, a beautiful baby boy named Lennie Alan James Hinchcliffe.
She sweetly revealed the news on Instagram with a candid snap of her holding the newborn and exclaiming her “heart is so full” after the new arrival showed up in the early hours.
Sharing the news with her 4.1million fans, she wrote: “Hello everyone. Jamie, Ronnie, Henry and I have a little human to introduce you to. Please meet Lennie Alan James Hinchliffe.
“I have absolutely no words to explain how I feel right now folks, but what I do know is that our hearts are so full.
“We are so grateful and so in love. Let the adventures of Ron, Len & Hen begin.
“Thank you for all your lovely get well wishes and messages reaching out to us.
“Your support and love mean the world. Lots of love to each and every one of you xxxx Jamie your boys and I love you a million times over.”
Sophie also shared a video preparing for the birth, in which she proudly shows off a tube of Smarties she’s munching – before a slide reads, “And then… Just after some Smarties…”
The next shot showed her and Jamie beaming and proudly cradling their newborn son.
What are Ms. Hinch’s top cleaning tips?
Sophie buys many of her cleaning products in bulk and keeps them all in a closet in her garage that she refers to as her Narnia.
She doesn’t use expensive products and prefers to stock up on Poundland as they get the job done.
One product she can’t get enough of is Zoflora, which you can also buy in Poundland.
It’s a disinfecting liquid that comes in a variety of delightful scents and can be used to clean most things.
Clean your patio tiles with a 99p product
A Ms Hinch fan said one of her top tips was to use Tesco’s 99p Pink Stuff Miracle Cream Cleaner to clean the patio tiles.
Cleaning fan Margaret Regan said: “Wet smacks, scrub with a garden brush, leave for a while and jet off.”
The 21p hack to clean your microwave
Mrs Hinch has been driving fans crazy over a 21p hack to cleaning her microwave.
All you have to do is buy some lemons, juice them in some water and pop them in your microwave for a few minutes.
Then wipe away the stains and it also leaves your microwave with a fresh, clean smell.
How to clean your oven racks
Mrs. Hinch soaked the baking sheets in the sink while she took the trays to the bathroom.
She couldn’t be bothered to find her big soaking tray, so instead she put it in the bathtub with dish soap, white vinegar, and warm water.
She sprays the inside of her oven with Elbow Grease and wipes it down with Scrub Daddy.
She then scrapes off any remaining stains and cleans the surface with glass cleaner.
After that she looks again at the counters in the bath to see where they are and they were spotlessly clean.
She put them back in the oven and marked it as “HINCHED”.
If we could list all the cleaning tips Mrs. Hinch gives us, we would write here forever.
But here are some others that she has shared with her fans:
