Glastonbury Festival is set to open its doors for the first time in three years next week and with a train strike looming, more festival-goers are expected to travel to the site by car.
Campers driving into the area are likely to face a lot of traffic, so it pays to plan ahead and make sure you know exactly where to go.
But once you get to Glasto, you need a safe place to park your car – and parking spaces are like gold dust. Unless you have registered for a parking space before arrival.
With the deadline for claiming one of Glastonbury’s official car parks being Wednesday, we’ve put together some helpful tips to help you get organized before setting up camp for five days.
Where is the Glastonbury Festival taking place and what is the postcode?
The Glastonbury Festival takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.
There is no exact postcode that you can use to get to the Glastonbury site but the organizers have provided a few different postcodes to take you to one location where you can then follow the signs to the festival venue.

Motorists traveling on the A303 and A37 are advised to use postcode TA11 7DP.
Drivers from Wales using the A39 or from the North West using the A361 are advised to enter BA6 9XE into their sat nav whilst travelers from Swindon or local transport on the A361 are advised to use BA4 4LY.
Once you have reached the destination of one of these postcodes you should see signs directing you to the festival site and you should follow them to find your way to the car park.
Parking information for the Glastonbury Festival
With the rail strikes set to significantly disrupt travel throughout the festival period, those opting to drive instead will need to plan ahead.
The most sensible way to guarantee you a spot is to pay £50 on Glastonbury’s seetickets page – but be quick as you only have until Wednesday 15 June to secure your spot.
If you miss the deadline, you still have a chance to snag a seat by paying £50 on arrival at the gate – but it’s first given.
The organizers urge festival-goers to ensure they arrive on the correct side of the allocated car park (east or west) to avoid lengthy waits.
Car parks open from 9pm on Tuesday 21 June to allow riders to arrive at night when traffic is lighter, but the gates to the festival will not open until 8am on Wednesday.
Motorists must follow the P signs to find the nearest parking lot, and they don’t have much choice as to where they are placed in the parking lot. (Be sure to note the route color and lot numbers so you don’t end up scouring lots for your vehicle when it comes to home time!)
The festival license given to the farm expires at 5pm on Monday, so organizers have asked people to have the parking lots cleared by then or risk being slapped by authorities.
What is the Glastonbury Sitemap?

A maximum capacity of 210,000 is currently allowed, which could happen at some point in the future as the number of participants continues to grow.
