The next iPhone generation will be on the market in about four months.

According to information from the Apple-focused website iDropNews, the upcoming iPhone 14 will be presented on 09/13.

Apple itself hasn’t confirmed or denied anything related to the leak, but the date would certainly fit with the company’s iPhone release history.

The biggest launch in the smartphone annual calendar traditionally takes place on a Tuesday in mid-September.

“As far as I know, Apple has something planned internally for ‘Week 37,'” writes iDropNews.

“The Cupertino-based company typically holds all of its events on a Tuesday.

“That means something will happen on September 13, 2022. Of course I cannot guarantee that this will be the event, but it certainly looks like it.”

It’s not yet clear if Apple’s next iPhone event will be in-person or virtually streamed. While Covid has been limited to livestreams for the past two years, Apple’s WWDC event next month is expected to host a small number of developers in-person at Apple’s Park campus in California.

Whether that means viewers will be allowed to see the new iPhone in the flesh remains to be seen.

Even if the event is held in person, Apple will still be livestreaming the event so Apple fans around the world can follow the action live.

Of course, we must also take this date with a pinch of salt as it could just be a placeholder that will change as we get closer for a variety of reasons.

But considering that the iPhone 13 was unveiled on September 13th, iPhone 11 on September 10th, and iPhone XS on September 12th, this leaked date seems very likely.

What will Apple reveal in September?

In recent years, Apple has produced four different iPhone models: the standard version, a smaller “mini” version, a more expensive “pro” version, and a larger premium “pro max” version.

Rumor has it that the smallest member of the family will be dropped in 2022 in favor of a larger version of the standard iPhone.

This would mean customers could choose between either a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 or a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro – or they could opt for “Max” (6.7-inch) versions of both .

The idea was bolstered by a leaked image circulating on Chinese social media site Weibo showing physical forms of the upcoming gadgets.

Made from aluminum, the molds were likely created to give third-party case makers precise dimensions to work with. That means they can put their iPhone 14 cases to good use from the second the new gadget is released.

And while they’re not all that different from current iPhone models, there will be small changes to things like the camera hump on the back or the overall thickness of the phone’s body to accommodate differences in battery size.

When can I buy an iPhone 14?

Just because the iPhone 14 will be unveiled in early September doesn’t mean you can get one right away.

After the announcement, there’s usually a window of ten days to two weeks before the phones go on sale.

So if the September 13 date is correct, it’s theoretically likely that the iPhone 14 will go on sale around September 30.

However, given the ongoing supply chain issues caused by Covid lockdowns in China, that could be pushed back to October if Apple is unavailable to get shipments through.

How much will the iPhone 14 cost?

While we can make a reasonable guess about when the iPhone 14 will be announced, we can also make a reasonable guess about what it will cost.

Chances are the iPhone 14 will cost around £800, while the more advanced iPhone 14 Pro is closer to £1,000.

The larger devices will likely be even more expensive, closer to £1,100.

And those are likely to be entry-level prices with minimal device storage.

For reference, the current flagship iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at £1,049 for 128GB of storage and goes up to £1,549 for 1TB.

What networks will the iPhone 14 offer?

The iPhone is the most recognizable smartphone on the market and therefore you can be sure that it is supported by all major networks.

All major UK networks including EE, Three, Vodafone and O2 will offer the next iPhone to customers who want to upgrade.
