Western Digital may be close to a settlement with activist investor Elliott Management
Western Digital Corp. is close to reaching a settlement with activist investor Elliott Management Corp., who is urging the $19 billion company to more seriously consider splitting it into two parts, according to people familiar with the matter.
Elliott announced a 6% stake in Western Digital WDC in May,
and sent a letter urging the company to explore a Separation in companies focused on traditional hard drives for computers, or flash memory.
