“We need a guy in the top four who will be in his 60s, 70s, 80s”: Sam Heazlett urges players to beat the Brisbane Heat after a slow start to the BBL 2021-22

BBL 2021-22: The Brisbane Heat have won one of their three games in BBL11, and Sam Heazlett has urged the players to move forward in the tournament.

The Brisbane Heat lost the first two games of BBL11, while they scored in the final game. They tried to chase a small total against the Melbourne Renegades. One side bowling was excellent in the tournament, but the players struggled. Sam Heazlett is the team’s best smasher with 120 runs in three games so far. Players like Chris Lynn, Max Bryant and Ben Duckett have failed to make an impact so far.

The Heat will face the Sydney Thunder on December 19, 2021 in their first home game at Gabba. Before the match, Sam Heazlett agreed that the smashers needed to strengthen in the next matches.

“The pitchers finished all three games very well,” said the 26-year-old.

“Polish-wise, we may not yet put on a polished performance.”

“We need a guy in the top four who has to be 60, 70, 80 or more, so we have somewhere to warm up from behind, and we don’t have that yet.”

“We needed someone to be there for a large portion of the rounds and be at the Power Race to score those quick runs and keep that momentum going to death.”

BBL 2021-22: Sam Heazlett is ready to hit anywhere for the Brisbane Heat

Sam Heazlett is naturally a top player in the BBL, but his role has been changed. He played well last season at No. 4, he has been doing the same role again and again. Heazlett agreed that he was now ready to hit anywhere in order.

“I don’t really mind too much, but I finished last season hitting the ball in 4th place and scored some runs there in the second final game and I feel comfortable there. ,” Heazlett said.

“I enjoyed the role that had to be involved and was able to adapt.”

“It was good to score a few runs and I had a few things my way. Hopefully I can continue with that momentum now. ”

The Brisbane Heat will be bolstered by the return of Mark Steketee against the Sydney Thunder.
