Lewis Hamilton took the checkered flag, while Valtteri Bottas sneaked up to the final spot on the podium by passing Esteban Ocon at the last minute. This makes Hamilton proud of Mercedes, as they want to win the title for the eighth time in a row in Abu Dhabi.
“We approach it with a cool head, as a team, and I think the key for us is just to stay calm.
“Obviously the people around us are willing to go through any level to get ahead, so I’m just trying to keep it on track and out of trouble, which means avoiding crashes if I can. , and I’m really, really grateful that I still have a wing in the end.
“And then I risked so much in the end with a little damage that I had to take that extra point, as we kept fighting, no matter what we went through as a team. , and I think maybe all of us, no matter what we face, we just keep pushing, never give up, and I think that’s the mentality of our team.
“I think I’ve seen the passion and excitement in my team, I think in 10 years I don’t think I’ve seen that, that’s amazing.”
