[WATCH] ‘SNL’ weekend update on Tucker Carlson’s Jan 6th report

Last week, Tucker Carlson tried to whitewash January 6th. Newish Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy felt it was the right thing to leave the riotous Fox News host over 40,000 hours of footage of the Capitol riots. In fact, he selected the dullest footage and claimed that the insurgents who wanted to overthrow democracy were just “sightseers” – a claim even Republicans trotted out. Still, it may have won over its most gullible followers, but no one else got snookered, not least the Anchors of SNL weekend update.

Colin Jost was the first. “Tucker Carlson, seen here laughing at a dog locked in a hot car, released security footage from the January 6 attacks, with the violence edited out, and said it proved it was a peaceful gathering was,” he said of a picture of Carlson laughing hysterically. “It’s like cutting all the sex out of a porn video and saying, ‘This is a short film about life as a stepmom.'”

Then came Michael Che., who took on the leaked lyrics showing Tucker secretly devastating Donald Trump. “New documents from the Dominion lawsuit revealed texts by Tucker Carlson saying he passionately hates Donald Trump and can’t wait to ignore him,” he said. “It must suck, going on TV and putting on a smile and befriending a psychotic fanatic just because it’s ‘good for the show’! Anyway, back to you Colin.”
