Jenna Ortega has a lot planned these days: a new one Scream Continuation, a new one Name is Episode, a new BFF in Aubrey Plaza. But people still want to talk about it Wednesday. The Addams family Spinoff is still all the rage, although it was a bear to make. In fact, this dance she dreamed up while being disheveled beyond that is still all the rage. So it was inevitable that in the promo for Ortega’s forthcoming SNL episode, would they address this particular dancing elephant.
In the ad, she is reluctant to do the dance again, arguing that “we’ve seen so much of it and I think it’s time to do something new.” Unfortunately, Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy – aka Please Don’t Destroy, who have been doing pre-recorded digital segments for the show since 2021 – have other plans. That means all three are dressed like Wednesday Addams in the instantly iconic dance scene. Feigning ignorance, they say they all happen to be dressed in black clothes, claiming that their knowledge of the show and its long-running character is sketchy at best.
Some reverse psychology later and sure enough, Ortega struts alongside them and does so Wednesday dance one last last time, or at least until the next time someone pushes them to blast those special moves.
Ortegas SNL will air as usual this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC. The musical guest is The 1975. You can see the promo in the video above.
