A TikToker who works 60 hours a week at two retail jobs has sparked debate over the app, with commenters divided between being impressed with her discipline and concerned about her lifestyle.
@asap.kristy’s TikTok, which has nearly 500,000 views, shows the user seemingly piling boxes onto a shopping cart at a Walmart. Accompanying the footage is an on-screen text that reads, “When people learn I’m choosing to work two jobs to save $20,000 a year if it’s my life and my choice. I’m currently enjoying retail, the jobs are easy, the schedules are flexible and my colleagues are great.”
Some commenters were unconvinced that the user could have a meaningful work-life balance. “All the money and no time to enjoy it just sleep and repeat,” wrote one commenter. “So what’s the point?”

“What in the retail hell propaganda?” asked another. Meanwhile, other commenters praised TikToker for her dedication, with one telling her she’s “such a hard worker,” while another reassuring her that “fiscal responsibility lasts a lifetime.”
Many users also noted the stigma that comes with going into retail unlike other professions. “That’s what I want to do now, but my family wants me to go to college, even though I don’t even know what I would go to college for,” confessed one commenter. “Some people get stressed out chasing a fancy job title,” surmised another. “If only people cared less about what other people think, they would be so much happier.
