Walmart customer buys 8 piece meal with boneless wings for $5.47

A user on TikTok has sparked a debate after sharing a tip on cheaper meals.

In a video with over 7.3 million views on Friday, TikTok user @bikelifej urges users to stop getting their meals from fast food restaurants. Instead, he says, they should buy them from Walmart.

“I’m deadly serious: stop giving these fast food places your money,” he says. “I was hungry at lunchtime and ran to Walmart. For $5.47 — 8-piece boneless wing, fresh potato wedges.”

It’s true that the prices for chicken wings in restaurants have risen sharply in recent years. While some claim that this is due to supply chain issues and other factors, others claim that the reasons given for higher prices were simply excuses to raise prices as much as possible.

However, some users in @bikelifej’s comment section claimed that this deal is not everything it promises.

“The chicken tastes like a Walmart receipt,” wrote one user.

“The fried chicken at Walmart isn’t,” agreed another.

“As someone who has worked at the Walmart deli, they always change the times for food so it doesn’t go to waste, so repackaged items are probably 12 hours old,” claimed a third.

Others said their local Walmart charged more for such a dish.

“Walmart here in Texas has increased prices. We pay about $9 for this meal,” said one user.

“I’m in Louisiana and it’s $8.99,” said a second.

However, other users have commented positively on Walmart’s grocery offerings.

“Walmart Ranch Wings are FIRE,” proclaimed one commenter.

“Walmart deli meets HART,” echoed another TikToker. “The chicken strips ARE SO GOOD. The Mac is better than KFC.”

“Walmart Deli is grossly underrated,” explained another user.
