In a video shared by food blogger @eatographers on Instagram, we can see black idli being prepared. The video begins with a street vendor pouring black powder and steaming it to make idlis. When it was fluffy, he took them out and dipped them with buttermilk, red chili powder, and chili sauce. According to the blogger, this idli comes from an eatery in Nagpur. In the video’s caption, the blogger also mentioned that this black idli is a “detox idli” and “not for pregnant women.” Take a look at this again:

Since the video was posted, it has garnered 2.5 million views, 96.9k likes and hundreds of comments. Many people have expressed their disappointment at this unique idli.
