Viral Video: This Giant Paratha From Nagpur Makes The Internet Amusing

2021 is an interesting year for foodies. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen people experiment with different types of dishes. While some dishes have taken a beating, others are still weird at their core. Then there are viral videos of giant and mouthwatering dishes. Remember the giant momo of Delhi? We found another such video that took the Internet by storm. It belonged to a hawker in Nagpur, selling giant parathas, with a Halwa gun by his side. What caught our attention was his cooking skills! Posted by food bloggers Nagpur Vivek and Ayesha (whose Instagram are ‘food houses’), the video shows a user rolling a coffee plant with his hand and stretching it to make it paper thin. Then he made some holes in the paratha (with his fingers) to create air pockets that kept it from bursting. Then he put the paratha in oil to deep-fry for about a minute or two and then scooped it out with a ladle. The best part is that he does it all in just a few minutes, without messing it up at all.

At Rs 40/250gm, this paratha is making a splash on social media. It is known that this paratha made from 700gm dough mixed with 100gm dalda and salt.

Instagram Reel has amassed almost 50k views to date. It also attracted a number of comments – some praising the owner’s cooking skills, some questioning hygiene. Some were confused as to whether it was a paratha or poori?!

“Definitely big!” wrote one. Another said, “Badiya two.” A third comment read, “Kya baat hai.”

While some also commented that: “Hygiene leaves the conversation”.
