Viral Video: Jaipur street vendor earns Mirinda Gol Gappe; Leave the Internet in a rage

India is a land of many different cultures but what holds us all together is the culinary experiences we have in every state. With so many dishes offered by different regions, we can never get enough of that taste. Plus, with the advent of bloggers and food enthusiasts, we come across a ton of recipes that we might not have heard of! But as one discovers different ways of enjoying from all over the country, we also see many exotic food combinations. From Oreo pakoda, Maggi chocolate, Kacha mango drink to momos paratha – all of these might surprise you. But this time, a strange combination that outraged many was ‘Mirinda Gol Gappa.’

We’ve all seen gol gappas filled with boiled potatoes, chana, chopped onions and delicious khata metha paani that makes our mouths water. However, one street vendor decided to change up the classic fillings and fill gappas gol with a carbonated drink.

In a video uploaded by Instagram user @chatore_broothers, we see a street vendor preparing Mirinda gol gappas. The video begins with the hawker shaking a bottle of the Mirinda cold drink then putting it in a large bin. Finally, he filled the puris with aloo stuffing and poured it into Mirinda to serve it. According to @chatore_broothers, these gol gappas are from Jaipur. Watch the video here:

Since the video was posted, it has garnered 2.9 million views, 124,000 views and some comments. One user wrote, “Don’t tell me you paid for this.” Another user said, “People have been making jokes out of our usual foods to experiment with them.” While another user said: “This has ruined my mood”.

Many have also called this combination “non-sense” and questioned whether these strange experiments will ever stop; some are also very angry about it.
