Viral TikTok shows children asking Dairy Queen workers to chant ‘Huh-yeah!’

A child asks a driver to say “Huh-yeah!” became the subject of an online debate because she wasn’t playing along.

In the video, a young boy is seen in the back seat of a car asking a Dairy Queen employee to pray with him and she responds with “No.” The text in the video reads: “When the woman is in [Dairy Queen] is a stupid name. “

In the nine days since the video was posted, it has received more than 611,000 views. The comments section disputed the attitudes of the staff, some saying their attitudes were unnecessary and others saying Dairy Queen employees had the right to opt out.

“Or we can accept that retail staff/any kind of customer service reps don’t have to entertain your kids or play with them,” one person wrote in the comments section. Others agreed and echoed this sentiment, saying, “Honestly, some of us just have social anxiety so we’re nervous and uncomfortable.”

Some think workers should play along. One user responded to the video, saying: “It would be illegal not to return a compliment” OHHHHHHHH YAAAAA! ” Another said, “I will SCREAMED ‘OH YEAAAAAA’ back to him 100%.”

We’ve reached out to the creator who uploaded the clip through comments on TikTok.
