Viral TikTok reveals how they are made

A video sharing Sonic’s onion ring making process has reached 4 million views on TikTok.

TikToker @TrueMenaceNate recorded himself making onion rings at the Sonic location he works at. They start out as naked onion rings, then are fed through a beater, which coats them in a liquid mixture before running them through a dry flour mixture. While the video doesn’t show the next step, they were probably frozen and preserved before frying.

Some commenters suggested that they were current or former employees of Sonic, and said that the machine that does all the work for the young man “must be new”, because they always knead the dough themselves. .

One commenter wrote: “I hate that I spent 5 years making it by hand. “I made a whole bag of onions and wanted to get rid of it myself. I’m a GM. “

Others shared that they learned how to use this cake maker from watching Easy life, featuring Nicole Ricci and Paris Hilton. Many of Hilton and Ricci’s attempts at tasks common to ordinary people seem to include smashing onion rings, at one point.

“Paris Hilton showed me how to do this,” wrote one commenter.

This video is part of a recent trend of employees sharing or “revealing” how their company prepares various fan-favorite menu items, such as: Papaya Green Tea Panera, or cinema nachos. With commenters asking to see how the additions are done, this trend could continue indefinitely.

The Daily Dot has reached out to @TrueMenaceNate via TikTok DM, as well as Sonic for comment.
