Stephanie McMahon takes over WWE from World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.

The WWE is looking into that a secret $3 million deal that McMahon, the former chairman and CEO, also known as “The Boss” and “The Chairman” of the world’s largest professional wrestling promotion company, reportedly paid an employee with whom he was allegedly having an affair, according to Wall Street Journal.

Stephanie McMahon previously served as WWE’s Chief Brand Officer and will be running things in the meantime.
“Pending the completion of the investigation into the recent allegations, I am honored to assume the role of interim chair and CEO,” she tweeted. “I love @WWE and all it continues to do to entertain billions around the world.”

She took some time off before becoming interim CEO.
Last month, citing her family, Stephanie McMahon announced that she was taking a leave of absence from her WWE duties as Chief Brand Officer. “WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company I love after taking this time to focus on my family,” she tweeted.
That wrestling watcher reported that McMahon would eventually return, but there was no timetable for her return — until she was named the new CEO this week.
