Following the end of the 8-9 season and elimination from the knockout stages, the Vikings will pick number 12 in the first round of the NFL draft from April 28-30 in Las Vegas.

Without options trading, this would be the highest Minnesota has picked since winning the Trae Waynes’ No. 11 spot in 2015.

The Vikings chose the number 12 twice earlier in their history. One of those picks went pretty well, with return Chuck Foreman being picked in 1973. The other didn’t turn out so well, with quarterback Christian Ponder being picked in 2011.
