US considers vaccinating chickens as bird flu kills millions of poultry

US is considering mass poultry vaccination campaign as bird flu has killed tens of millions of chickens.
More than 58 million farm birds have died from bird flu in 47 states. It has skyrocketed the cost of eggs and raised fears of a human pandemic.
Using vaccines is one option the Biden administration is considering to combat bird flu.
“There are a number of options that the United States regularly considers when faced with an outbreak that could affect the security of the United States’ food supply,” a White House National Security Council spokesman said Monday.
“Right now, our focus is on promoting and improving effective biosecurity practices and procedures.”
