US and its allies supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets | US News

The US and its allies are reportedly planning to provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and support training around them.
President Joe Biden told G7 leaders on Friday that the US would join efforts to train Ukrainian pilots in fourth-generation fighter jets, including the F-16, a senior administration official told CNN on Friday.
Training for the F-16 will probably not take place in the USA.
“As the training takes place over the coming months, our coalition of countries involved in this action will decide when we will actually provide jets, how many we will provide and who will provide them,” the official said.
The official said the US and its allies have so far focused on providing Ukraine with the vast majority of the systems, weapons and training it needs to conduct offensive operations this spring and summer.
“Discussions on improving Ukraine’s air force reflect our long-term commitment to Ukraine’s self-defense,” the official said.
