UFC star and Liverpool fan Paddy Pimblett has shared his chilling account of last Saturday’s Champions League final in Paris.

Thousands of Liverpool fans – including women and children – were caught up in the chaos as kick-off for their clash with Real Madrid was postponed by 36 minutes.

Fans waiting to enter the Stade de France were attacked with tear gas as traveling fans were denied entry to the stadium by hard-line French authorities.

Various reports have revealed that supporters were also attacked by local gangs throughout the evening, with many victims of muggings and knife attacks.

Pimblett, who was in Paris that evening, compared the horrific scenes that unfolded after the game to the 2013 film The Purge, in which all crimes are decriminalized for a 12-hour period.

“It was people with machetes just walking around, that’s what I’ve been saying for the past few days. The only thing I can compare that to is something like ‘The Purge,'” Pimblett said in an Instagram Live.

“In the movie The Purge you can do whatever you want for 12 hours, that’s how it was. That’s how I feel, it was like the purge. For twelve hours there were no laws.’

Pimblett added traveling supporters would be “pinned down” during targeted attacks.

Countless fans missed the start of the game.

“I’ve seen a couple of people pull off men’s bags where they spilled, pull the men’s bag and slice what was around them and run away with the bag.

“Even before the game I saw a few tickets being stolen and stuff. People running away with tickets.

“Like I said, it was off the ground when it was at its worst. Obviously getting in was bad as the police tear gassed everyone.

“We were lucky that there were 12 of us. I don’t know if they were locals or not, they looked at us and saw that there were so many of us and didn’t really want to annoy us.

“An older man and some friends came over and asked, ‘Can we go with you?’ He said he had just been pinned to the ground, a dog attacked him, his watch and wallet taken and his pockets emptied.
