Tyson Fury reacted to Anthony Joshua’s decision to assist Dillian Whyte in their title fight.

‘The Gypsy King’ will put its WBC heavyweight title against Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April 23.

Earlier this week, Joshua said he was ‘cheering’ on his old foe Whyte to win – although he still ‘hates’ Brixton heavyweights following their vicious rivalry in 2015.

However, Fury insists the two only have some in common as both have experienced notable setbacks in their careers.

“No, I’m not surprised because they’re both defeated fighters,” Fury told talkSPORT.

‘Both have lost a couple of times and I’m the only undefeated left on these shores and I assume they’ll want me to be like them – defeated. But it didn’t happen.

‘So that’s why I can see them club together.

‘They’re all going to club together because they want to see me lose, but that’s not happening because GK is big [Gypsy King] don’t lose. ‘

Whyte was eliminated in the seventh round when he and Joshua met in 2015 with his only other defeat coming against Alexander Povetkin in 2020.

Joshua also had two losses on his record to Andy Ruiz Jr and Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua is hoping Whyte can make a big splash and silence Fury at Wembley next month – even offering some tactical advice to help take down ‘The Gypsy King’.

Good [quality] Joshua told IFL TV. ‘Dillian Whyte needs to look at what Tyson Fury does and reacts to and does the exact opposite.

‘Maybe the body has to work and condition to go the distance, but I hope Dillian will train hard and don’t underestimate Tyson.

‘Since this was his first shoot, I thought he would be hungry. It’s not the 10th time he’s fought for a title, and he may have had a bit of a hiccup along the way – it’s the first time he’s fought for a title.

‘I’m in love with Dillian, even though I hate him and I want to give him a smack these days. Keep going Dillian, I’ll be with you for the long haul. ‘
