Two women died after gunfire in south-west Sydney

Two women have died after being shot in south-west Sydney on Saturday.

Ambulance services were called to Weston Street, Revesby, at 8.50pm following reports of a shooting where they found two women with gunshot wounds in a vehicle, police said.

The women, aged 48 and 36, were treated at the scene by ambulances, but the older woman died at the scene.

The younger woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Two other vehicle occupants – a man and a woman – remained physically unharmed.

Crime scenes have been set up and are being investigated by a specialized forensic police force.

Strike Force Laurantus was formed to investigate the incident.
