Two police officers are in hospital after being stabbed to death in central London in the early hours of Friday.
Scotland Yard said the male officers were off duty when the incident took place on Greek Street in Soho.
Police arrived at the scene after being called by London Ambulance at around 3.30am to report that a man had been stabbed.
A short time later, they found a second man with stab wounds nearby.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of willful GBH and possession of Class A drugs.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Officers were at the scene. A second man was then located – he also suffered stab wounds.
“Both men were taken to hospital for treatment – both men’s condition is now stable.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of § 18 grievous bodily harm GBH and possession of class A narcotics.
“He was taken to a police station in West London, where he remains.”
The police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
