Two people were killed in an RV fire in Salt Lake City on Wednesday morning, and a third is being treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out around 7:30 a.m. near 1775 W. 200 South, according to a spokesman for the Salt Lake City Fire Department. When the fire brigade arrived, flames were shooting from the front end of the RV.
Firefighters entered the back of the vehicle and pulled three people out. Two people died at the scene, and the third was taken to a hospital. The person’s condition was not immediately known.
“It looks like at this point they’ve been overtaken by smoke,” said SLCFD’s Captain Anthony Stowe.
The names of the victims were not released. According to the SLCFD, the victims were homeless and living in RVs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
