It looks like Twitter has made Non-Fungible Token (NFT) profile pictures available to all users of the platform.

The feature, known as PFP, was originally limited to iOS users, who also had to pay Twitter Blue users in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Owners of NFTs have the bragging rights to a digital work of art along with the blockchain record attached to it. Twitter now allows them to display their NFTs on their profile picture.

By purchasing NFTs with cryptocurrency, customers can support content creators and artists who offer their digital content for sale. You can then resell the NFT at a higher price.

“The reason I’m looking forward to the pfp feature is that when you really enjoy or like something you want to show it. The pfp is also your identity in this area, what you use could say a lot about you or the community you belong to and also with the hexagon it is a confirmation that you own the NFT you are displaying”, a Twitter user told Metro.co.uk.

NFT profile pictures are displayed as hexagonal images and Twitter allows users to click on them to examine different characteristics of NFTs such as: B. the token ID, the blockchain type and the collection it belongs to.

In January, Twitter has released NFT profile pictures on iOS for its paid Twitter Blue users.

“Setting up an NFT profile picture means people can link your Twitter account to your connected wallet’s public crypto wallet address,” Twitter said in a blog post announcing the feature.

This means your Twitter account will be linked to your current and historical crypto wallet transactions and holdings, including any other NFTs in that wallet, as this information is all available on the public blockchain.

According to a tutorial video, users could connect their wallet including Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Argent or Ledger Live and set it as their profile picture.

In December 2021, OnlyFans, the online subscription platform known for adult content, introduced NFT profile pictures. Reddit is also reportedly working on an NFT profile picture feature.

Now that the feature seems to be rolling out to everyone, users are already tweeting their new display images with the hashtag #NewNFTProfilePic.
