Twitter for Android is reportedly working on mixed-media tweets; Several new features

Twitter for Android is reportedly working on a variety of new features, including support for adding images and videos to the same tweet. Work in progress features include the Status, Awards, and Pronouns page. A recent report indicates that Twitter is testing a new feature called Twitter Circle, where users can choose a smaller group of 150 people to share their tweets with. The microblogging platform is also said to be working on adding an editing function to its platform.

According to 9to5Google, a recent update to Twitter for Android has indicated several new features that are in the works. 9to5Google contributor Dylan Roussel sighted some of the new features Twitter is working on, such as B. State. This feature adds a status to tweets and is also intended to show a status in the user’s profile.

Twitter is also said to be working on an awards feature. Roussel discovered a button that allows users to give a tweet an award. A tweet also shows the number of awards it has received. Separately, the “Join” and “Discover” buttons have been spotted, allegedly targeting profile/tweet detection. A pronouns page is another feature Twitter is said to be working on.

The microblogging platform also seems to make it possible to tweet both an image and a video in the same tweet. Now, media tweets can only contain either a gallery of up to four photos or a single video. There is no way to tweet photos and videos together. Twitter is reportedly switching it up by allowing users to shuffle media, meaning they can add up to four media that can be either photos or videos in a tweet.

Twitter also confirmed this week that it is testing a new feature called Twitter Circle, where users can choose a smaller group of 150 people to share their tweets with. The new Twitter feature appears to be in a similar vein to Instagram’s Close Friends feature, which allows audiences to be chosen for their stories.

In addition, the social networking platform is said to be working on adding an editing feature to its platform. A series of alleged images showing various aspects of this feature have been leaked by a tipster. Aside from showcasing the icons and new user interface on the web version of Twitter, the tipster also shared several unfinished options like edit history. The iOS and Android versions are expected to have a similar layout. Twitter hasn’t officially announced this feature yet.
