Turkish baths ban skinny dipping after ‘serious complaint’

Nude use of a Turkish bath in North Yorkshire has been banned after a “serious incident”.
Visitors to Harrogate Turkish Baths are required to wear swimwear until further notice.
Council leaders issued an update on the situation today, the Yorkshire Post reported.
In a statement, Harrogate Council said: “Following a complaint to Harrogate Turkish Baths, an operational decision has been taken that swimwear is now compulsory at all bathing sessions.
“The complaint related to an incident which, due to its seriousness, was reported to the police and is currently being investigated.
“We have a duty of care to our customers and staff and in order for all same-sex sessions to take place in a safe environment it has been decided that swimwear must be worn until further notice.”
Metro.co.uk have contacted North Yorkshire Police for more details on the “serious nature” of the complaint.
For 120 years, Harrogate has drawn people from far and wide to its Turkish baths.
You must be over 16 years old to visit.
Although Turkish baths were common in Victorian times, only a handful remain from the 19th century.
