A woman has burned to death in Turkey after being locked in a trailer she was staying in.

Hayley Louise Pearce, 54, was on holiday with her boyfriend in the city of Bodrum when the tragedy struck.

Local media reported the couple woke up after the flames had already engulfed their accommodation.

Hayley remained trapped in the trailer and died in the early hours of the morning.

Her Turkish friend, whose name is not given, somehow escaped the fire, but the extent of his injuries remains unclear.

Footage from the crime scene only shows the trailer completely destroyed while the fire brigade struggles to put out the flames.

They could only recover Hayley’s lifeless body in the charred remains of the vehicle.

It has since been taken to the morgue of the Mugla Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
