Tucker Carlson’s Twitter account appears to have been hacked

Tucker Carlson has been in tears lately, trying, unconvincingly, to gloss over the January 6 riot as a peaceful gathering of “sightseers.” But on Tuesday, the guy hated by some of his own peers appears to have fallen victim to fake news: Caught by The daily beastthe Twitter bio of the Fox News fury suddenly carried some claims that were strange even to him.

“Non-binary climate activist of color,” Tucker’s bio read now. “Visionary tech founder. CNBC Market Analyst. Informal Zelensky advisor.”

So was Tucker hacked? Just prior to his Tuesday night show, @AnonOpsSE, the account of members of the hactivist collective Annonymous, appeared to credit access to his account and told him, “You’ve been hacked.” This expressly makes no claims to this act. They could have just caught the unusual new bio and got more people to catch it.

Or was it some weird joke on Tucker’s part, secretly poking fun at all the progressives trying to point out to his viewers how much he secretly hates Trump? The bio was still live at the time of this writing Tuesday night, and whoever was controlling it hadn’t started tweeting or retweeting un-Tucker-y sentiments. In fact, the most recent tweet posted towards the end of his latest episode was a clip of him defending far-right troll Douglass Mackey.

There’s also theory number three: Tucker just didn’t realize that his bio is now telling people he suddenly cares about climate change and Ukraine. If that’s true, maybe someone should tell him about it, lest his fans think he’s been lured to the right side of history. If that’s not true, then welcome to the resistance, Tucker Carlson.
