Tucker Carlson said he hates Trump “passionately” in lyrics

This week Tucker Carlson dusted off one of his old favorites: downplaying the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. This time he had 40,000 hours of security footage in his fists, and he was doing what everyone knew he was doing, picking out the dullest segments from it to make the fallacious claim that the violent attempt to overthrow democracy was a mostly peaceful one Matter was of mere “sightseers”. He’s doing it for the love of Trump, right? Wrong, at least if you look at some newly published texts he exchanged with a co-worker two days before that fateful day.

“We’re very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I can’t wait,” Carlson wrote to an unidentified Fox News contributor. “I hate him passionately,” he soon confessed, adding that he “blew up [ex-Trump staffer] Peter Navarro in frustration today. Actually I like Peter. But I can’t handle it anymore.”

Wow, Tucker seems pretty upset, doesn’t he? It’s almost as if he’s going back to the old days, when he wore a bow tie on the air and was shredded by Jon Stewart, who was almost out of tenure at CNN. (That’s right, Tucker Carlson was on CNN once. Crazy to think about.)

The leaked texts are the latest treasure trove of Dominion’s costly lawsuit against Fox News, which claims – with plenty of evidence – that the network’s executives and stars knew all the nonsense of the 2020 election fraud they were peddling was bullshit.

Does Tucker Still Hate Trump ‘Passionately’? Is this all just a ploy to suck up fame and money and a sense of power? It certainly seems so. Incidentally, he privately admitted that he despises the big guy, interestingly taunting comments he had made about non-far right media about two months earlier: “Reporters hate Trump with an all-consuming mania. They hate him so much it’s amusing to watch at times.”

It’s almost as if Republicans like Tucker often act with projection: blaming others for exactly what they’re guilty of.
