Triple-digit warmth returns to the St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS – After a cooler weekend with low humidity, the heat is picking up again for the work week.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s for Monday but as humidity should still be a bit low there shouldn’t be too much of a heat index factor.
By Tuesday, the first official day of summer, temperatures will rise to almost 100 degrees. This could potentially break the record high for the day of 99. Humidity is rising so the heat index readings will reach 105 degrees.
Wednesday will also be hot and humid with heat indices back to 105. Humidity should decrease somewhat by Thursday but high temperatures in the mid to high 90’s are expected into the weekend.
The chance of rain remains fairly low for the working week as well, but some scattered showers and storms are possible on Wednesday and Thursday.
